Patrick Kelsey
Patrick Kelsey is a hardware and software engineer operating as an independent consultant from a hilltop somewhere in Pennsylvania, USA. His first significant BSD project was a proprietary object-based file system in the NetBSD kernel. Most of his work over the last couple of years has focused on FreeBSD-based network infrastructure equipment.
During the past 15+ years, Patrick has engaged in hardware and software architecture and implementation for an assortment of commercial systems, including audio and video processing, enterprise storage, high performance computing, industrial control, network infrastructure, and telecom. Having in the process used a very wide variety of operating systems, he is keenly aware that by this point he has experienced most things that are less enjoyable than working with FreeBSD.
